#VisitOurGalleries, A new selection from Arcturus Gallery
From June 8, 2020 to June 20, 2020
Nieves Salzmann is a Franco-Austrian artist born in 1976 who lives and works in Paris. She graduated from the School of Fine Arts of Paris in 2002, she is a painter, visual artist, stage designer and still photographer at the same time.
Between abstraction and figuration, Nieves Salzmann exaltes ordinary places with flat areas of bright colors, and accident of materials full of poetry. Her main subject is urban landscapes which she transcribes while devoting significant parts of her canvas to abstract vibrations posed in the sky most of the time, opening deep and immaterial perspectives.
She uses as well the memories from her journeys, as abundant as the supports in which she works (canvas, wood, paper, tracing paper and recently printmaking and lithography), and as varied as the formats that she uses.
Her work has been exhibited in several solo exhibitions in Paris, Vienna and Salzbourg as well as in group exhibitions and fairs in Paris, Finland, Austria and Germany.
