Presentation

Established for thirty years in Bordeaux, near Saint-Emilion, I practice painting and architecture. In painting, I started in the 1980s by imagining fantastic cities in watercolors. At the same time, my career as an architect has led me to develop large urban spaces, such as the Cours de Chapeau Rouge in Bordeaux, and the Algiers tram stations and hubs. I taught at the Bordeaux School of Architecture and Landscape.

Since the 90s, it is oil painting that has been my preference, with classic and mythological subjects that I work in a quirky way, in a surrealist spirit. Finally from 2014, I became interested in the concept of synchronicity, that is to say in the irrational and mysterious links which give meaning to fortuitous coincidences. My synchronistic paintings therefore bring together in each painting, fragments borrowed from painters with no apparent relationship between them; my reinterpretation allows them to resonate and to give birth to new proposals from them, highlighting the secret affinities of pictorial imaginaries, the continuities of painting through space and time.
