Presentation

Born in Chicago, Nick Torgoff (alias Myre) lives in Paris where he began to practice graffiti around 1990.

As a teenager, he established himself as a writer in the public space of the capital and in several other large cities around the world.

At the start of the 2000s, his first trip to Latin America and the discovery of the young graffiti scene that was being built there, definitively oriented his work by making a junction between the tools of writing and an urban practice that went beyond the rules inherited from the golden age of New York.

He develops in his lettering a universal geometric language.

Invested in graffiti and its history, he was a relay between the American and French scene. He participated in the development of monographs on TKID170 and Martha Cooper. Close to the Latin American scene, he represents it at several events and exhibitions in France. From 2001 to 2006, he helped organize major festivals. He was also one of the first to organize a detailed and comprehensive database on the history of graffiti.
