Presentation

BATLI is my artist name for Béatrice Alice Lafitte-Irigaray.

Originally from the south-west of France.

RECUP'ARTIST

Adept of novelty, and convinced ecologist, I practice instant creativity. My work is practiced on raw materials intended for waste. I belong to a line of "recup'artistes" and my goal is to draw attention to the hidden nobility of the materials I use by putting my artistic stamp on them.

My particularity is to work with and on recycled materials from industrial companies: most often I paint on metal, but also on tiles, Plexiglas, wood, glass, in fact on all the materials offered by the factories and companies I work with. I also customize old surfboards to give them a new life and propose them as an art object. This formula has a great impact on my work, because this diversity of media inevitably leads to changes in style.

Through this practice, the material "considered as waste" becomes beautiful and expressive when it is highlighted, looked at, appreciated.
