Presentation

Fabienne Veverka was born in Paris in 1968. Initially interested in drawing, easel painting and painted decoration, she finally graduated in 2005 from IPEDEC in Pantin.

However, her career quickly took the opposite direction from her training when she discovered printmaking. Thus, it is with etching and linocut that she knows her first recognition as an artist. Her first series representing views of New York will be exhibited in 2016 at the Xuyuan Biennale in China .

At the end of the year, she left France and moved to the United States in New York State. She then devoted all her time to creation and, in the same year, her etching was again noticed at the Miniprint Biennial of Norwalk ( Connecticut) by the curator of the engraving department of the Metropolitan Museum, Freyda Spira, who she meets at Helen Frankenthaler's studio. Very curious about American society, she regularly attended museums in New York, Philadelphia and Washington DC. Living in the city of Corning, she regularly visits the Corning Museum of Glass . Her work on light, today at the heart of her production, is largely inspired by the atmosphere of the museum gallery.

Since 2018, which marks her return to France in the Chevreuse Valley, she has been particularly interested in her research on light, finding an inexhaustible fascination in the creation of her “abstract materializations" of light .
