Biography
Corinne Dauger was born in 1962. A multi-faceted artist, she works in the mediums of painting, sculpture and photography. After completing her studies at the Brussels Académie des Beaux-Arts, she joined the workshops of Prado in Madrid. She currently lives and works in the Rueil-Malmaison district of Paris. She draws inspiration from the regular trips she makes to Europe, the United States and Asia and from her experience in visual communication. As much in her paintings as in her sculpture, her overriding approach is that of representation. Her artistic response is fuelled by twentieth century architecture, the films of Hitchcock and the art of comic books. “I try to achieve harmony between light and structure: perspective directs the gaze, establishes the key elements and transports the light; the omnipresent light serves to structure the space, lending discernible depth to the perspective and bringing the solid forms to life,” reveals the artist. Her bronze sculptures evoke our daily lives in fresh and unexpected ways. Situations and contemporary objects are used to draw and capture the viewer's attention. Corinne has been exhibiting her work in France and Europe since 2005.
