Pierre Igon, born August 4, 1922 in Toulouse, died June 5, 2006, is a French painter. He had his first personal exhibition in 1948. He belonged to what is called the “young Toulouse school”. His painting belongs to the domain of the abstract. Very few of his works are figurative. He was one of the pioneers of abstraction. If he is best known for his paintings, he also liked to work on raw materials such as wood, metals or even stone (slates). His first exhibition took place in 1946. The last exhibition devoted to him took place in 2006 in the Tiny Factory gallery in Toulouse.
