Robert Steng is a German artist born in 1972. He lives and works in Stuttgart.
After studying to become a carpenter, Robert Steng turned to a more artistic practice, for that he employs second-hand materials, on which one can see the traces of time and the marks left by the changes of temperature or seasons.
Robert Steng's wooden compositions can be appreciated as being part of two of the most popular art movements of the twentieth century: the Post-Minimalism and the Arte Povera. Nevertheless, his mural compositions remains as original and unique, specially when he manages to combine the materials and shapes with harmony.
