Biography
Maria Pecsics is a photographer born in 1973 originally from Hungary. Once she graduated from the department of photography of the Visual Arts High School and from the school of education of the Hungarian University of Art and Crafts, she did the thesis of her doctorate at the School of Art DLA, the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design. Since 1998, she has been a member of the Association of Hungarian Photographers. In 2000, she founded a professional photo studio and ran it for six years. In 2006, she started working as a teacher. Today, she works at the photography department of the Kaposvar University as a n assitant professor. She focuses mainly on landscapes exploring subjects in relation to man and nature. In 2003, she starting exposing her landscapes in solo exhibitions, in various places, notably at the Hungarian House of Photography, at the Hungarian Academy of Rome, at the Goldberg Munchen Studios, at the Hungarian National Gallery. She also received the Jozsef Pecsi scholarship in 1998, 2007, 2008. In 2012, her works of art were awarded a grant by the National Culture Fund of Hungary.
