Nóra Soós

Nóra Soós is a Hungarian artist born in 1979. From 1994 to 1998, she studied at the Szombathely School of Arts and specialized in graphic design. In 2003, she graduated from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts. Nóra Soós became known through his vibrant, multi-colored and multi-layered paintings, drawing inspiration from everyday life and pop and media cultures, creating a daring imaginary language and expressing itself through connotations, reflections, critical thinking and humor. Its different series feature simple subjects, sometimes naive while being very luminous, and life situations that refer to clichés, fashion and tabloids. Stylistically, abstraction, the strong linear composition, the dominant role of the monograph, the accumulation of patterns, the representation of transparency, the top view, the atmospheric levitation of the visualized objects and the collage effect are the characteristics of the paintings by Nóra Soós. In this way, the viewer has the impression of looking at several paintings where people and situations overlap and where the objects that define the banality, the everydayness of the paintings have a secondary function: they have become cultural signs. Nora Soos has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Hungary since 2002.
