Born in 1983 - India
Ramesh Bariya was born in 1983 in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. Coming from the Bhils tribe, the third largest tribal community in India, he is the son of the famous artist Bhuri Bai. The Bihls developed an art derived from clay reliefs that decorate the walls of their houses and the sacred spaces of their villages.
His works on canvases and paper represent, in most cases, the different religious or secular ceremonies practiced by the community. The work of Ramesh Bariya, has a very contemporary touch, since he add modern objects or elements such as a bus to his representations.
