Cormac O'Leary is an Irish artist born in 1969 in Cork city. Currently, he lives and works at County Leitrim in Ireland. He studied Fine Arts at Sligo Institute of Technology.
After his studies, Cormac O'Leary settled down in Barcelona, where he steeped in works at the Picasso Museum, Joan Miro foundation, Tapies foundation and the several buildings designed by Gaudi. When he came back to Ireland, he opened a workshop with other local artists. This is when he began to locally and nationally exhibit his work and publish art reviews and illustration brochures like Arts West magazine, Circa or the Sculpture Newsletter Society of Ireland.
Cormac O'Leary mainly works with oil painting and acrylic. He draws his inspiration from his environment and Irish landscapes.
Cormac O'Leary's works were displayed at personal exhibitions at The Barbara Stanley Gallery in London, in 2015, 2009 and 2007, Chimera Gallery of Mullinga in 2014, The Hamilton Gallery of Sligo in 2013 and 2010, The Custom House Gallery, of West port in 2012, not to mention Cill Rialaig Arts Kerry Center in 2011. His works became part of the collections at Leitrim County Council, Nazareth House of Sligo, Hawkswell Theater of Sligo, Cork County Library Collection, Royal Hospital Donnybrook in Dublin and Allied Irish Banks.
