Leonardo Cremonini

Born in 1925 - Italy

Leonardo Creminini is an Italian artist born on November 26, 1925 in Bologna and died April 12, 2010 in Paris. He acquired a realist precision and an irreprochable technique while studying at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera in Milan.

He made paintings that are far from the big artistic currents of his time such as Art Povera, pop and abstraction, which were on style during the sixtees in Italy. Completely figurative, Leonardo Cremonini's paintings are impregnated of a world of methaphysical relality detached from the tendencies of his time, a dreamlike world from his memories and uncouncious where light plays a main role in his artistic research.

He was appointed chief of the workshop at the National Superior School of Fine Arts in 1983 by the then Minister of Culture, Jack Lang.
