Presentation

Daniele Fissore (Savigliano, 1947 - 2017) is an Italian artist. In 1975, he participated in the X Quadrennial in Rome, and in 1976 in the Design Biennial in Milan. In 1980, Fissore moved to London. There, he realized the series Picnic, exhibited at the House Gallery in 1981.

Back in Italy, he intensified his exhibition activity, with numerous solo and group exhibitions. In 1993, he painted the theme of the "Mare", the sea, through which he explored the emotional aspects of the landscape. In 2006, he also resumed the theme of the monuments dedicated to the Risorgimento heroes.

On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, he received from the Piedmontese Public Authorities an important task: the decoration of a vast area of the Dora Park in Turin, where, in 2011, he reproduced on an urban scale (560 square meters in size) the original paintings of the cycle of the Heroes.
