Carlo Ferrari is an Italian artist, born in 1946 in Massenzatico, Italy. His father is Swiss and mother is Italian. During his childhood years, he lived for many years in Zurich, and absorbed its culture. When he went back to Italy, he finished his studies and began rubbing shoulders with famous painters and sculptors, and studying oil painting techniques. In 1968, he opened a studio in Reggio Emilia, and began a long journey, which went from Flemish landscapes of Rubens in Turner, Poussin, Caravaggio and other masters of colors. He lives and works in Reggio Emilia.

Ferrari is one of the rare panorama artists of contemporary art, who uses costly materials, like the masters of olden times, takes care of canvases (flax)and tables, looks for subtle colors and natural rare pigments and studies pictorial binders like safflower oil or poppy, but also resin which was used in Flemish paintings in the past.

He has done several exhibitions, some of which are well known like his solo performances at Bellini Gallery Inc. (San Diego, 2001), Studio Forni (Milan, 2003), Galleria Forni (Bologna, 2003), Prom Gallery (Monaco de Bavière, 2010). He also participated in contemporary art fairs : ArteExpo (Barcelona), départ (Strasbourg), Arte Fiera (Bologna), MiArt (Milan) and Art Paris (Abu Dhabi). Currently he works in Forni Gallery and Galleria Forni Stefano di Bologna.
