Yukio Imamura is a Japanese artist, born in 1935 in Ise. Since 1977, she has been spending time between France and Japan.

Yukio Imamura defines herself as an extreme painter. She represents infinitely small work with her Quarks series, elementary atom particles but also infinitely big creations too. Her paintings revolve around macrocosm and microcosm.

An eager and curious artist, Imamura tries to explore various universes, several themes and techniques. For a while now, she has been fascinated by Nigerian art and addresses it in her own unique way, given her unique multi-cultural background. Despite her diverse artistic productions, the governing principle of her work is about man's relationship with cosmos and confrontation with "extreme. The artist tries to understand the position we choose, on an infinite scope.
