Presentation
Hiroyuki Nakajima is a Japanese calligrapher who combines great creativity with respect for the requirements of his art. The artist is fully in line with the tradition of Japanese calligraphy - called "shodo" -, while giving a large place to the immediate bodily sensations that the creative act gives him. Shodo is considered in Japan as a form of learning, from an individual teaching, transmitted by a master.
For Hiroyuki Nakajima, calligraphy is more than a daily practice of creation. She has established herself as an invisible link with her cultural heritage, her formative years and her country, Japan. It was this aesthetic quest, this search for harmony with nature that led him to a career as an architect-urban planner, then to a vocation as a calligrapher.
