Natali Bouchaaya

Born in 1978 - Lebanon

Natali Bouchaaya is a Lebanese painter, born in 1978 in Lebanon. She studied interior design, followed by visual arts at the Fine arts Lebanese Academy. She lives in Beirut, and has been devoted to painting since 2015.

Her artistic universe draws inspiration from the works of Max Ernst, etchings of Ukiyo-e and photos of Martin Parr. In her compositions, Natali Bouchaaya explores and interprets social life, and gives it a whole new meaning through a unique and poetic universe. In this process, imagination plays a key role: "I have chosen figurative art to attract the spectator and make him think about his memories, all the while putting down roots in a dreamlike world" says the artist. The artist's favorite theme to trigger dreams with elements like mundane life, humans and animals. The spectator is disconnected but is immersed in an extraordinary world, without actually losing his bearings.
