Translation in progress

Louna Maalouf dedicates her work to her country, Lebanon. She tackles the subject of politics, history, and conservation through its citizens. She chronicles the identity of her country through memories, experiences and heritage, depicting the perpetual contradictions of Beirut while searching for a balance between harmony and chaos, stability and metamorphosis.

Daughter of a great painter and visionary Alfred Maalouf, Luana grew up in a family of artists. Art has always been part of her life, she obtained her graduate diploma in plastic art (painting section) of the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts (alba) in 1988. In 1997, she received a scholarship from alba as proffesseur at the National School of Fine Arts in Cergy, Paris. Since 1989 until now, she is committed to teaching at alba. She transmits to her students her artistic talent in schools of architecture and cinema. She participated in many group and solo exhibitions. To her credit, paintings that summarize the woman, the city and the citizen rights worldwide. From her paintings, a positive force emanates from this city she loves beyond all cities: Beirut is for the artist a great source of inspiration..
