In 2008 he was selected in the XVIII edition of the prestigious Rufino Tamayo Painting Biennial. The Biennial is the painting contest par excellence in Mexico and the one with the broadest curriculum impact. Thanks to his work, the National Fund for Culture and the Arts awarded him the scholarship of Young Creators (2010).

Abraham Jiménez is one of the artists that make up the Milenio Arte Collection, promoted by "Milenio", one of the leading newspapers in Mexico. The Collection was created in 2013 with the aim of promoting the contemporary Mexican painting.

He was selected also to participate in the exhibition "100 artists, 100 covers of Milenio Diario", which presents a hundred of covers of the newspaper intervened by other artists, among which are some of the most prominent contemporary Mexican art. The exhibition was presented at the Museo de América in Madrid in February 2018.

The photorealistic poetic of Abraham Jiménez is focused around the human figure. The process of his painting is very slow, sometimes changing the subject and after years he returns to a previous subject. It evokes Johannes Vermeer who painted 34 works. Jiménez establishes a dialogue with different pictorial techniques to catch light, colour and drama and to bring them into his paintings.

He works in thematic series: “The ape", “The hero", “The fair", etc. He combines techniques of classical painting and his own visual vocabulary to generate scenes derived from a character, in which humour and absurdity manifest themselves in a world of reality and fiction.
