Born in 1985 - Netherlands
Ali Berg is a Dutch photographer born in 1985.
After having worked in the design industry, he studied Applied Arts in London, which drove him to photography.
He is influenced by many things, ranging from design to calligraphy.
Ali Berg specializes in representing urban architecture through photos printed on aluminum or metal foil. In his first works, Ali Berg ingeniously combined abstraction and realism. He used torn posters like Jacques Villeglé; and his collages build-ups, the posters denounce the character in question as he is exhausted by the urban environment.
The artist's work with the material makes his photos look like old postcards from the 19th century. An old-fashioned atmosphere gives the photos a timeless look.
