Pieter Briels did his training at Akademie voor Industrieële Vormgeving in Eindhoven and at Akademie voor Beeldende Kunsten in Tilburg. He currently lives in Netherlands.
The artist draws his inspiration from Japanese and Chinese art and culture, in which believing in a higher world is essential and the use of watercolor is predominant. He exclusively practices this technique, therefore allowing him to highlight the fluidity of his strokes and a playing on chiaroscuro.
Due to his many travels around the world, especially in France and New-Zealand, he discovers majestic nature. It has become the main topic of his works and is shown under the form of flower bouquets or spectacular landscapes.
