Born in 1962 at the Austrian embassy in Haye, Ronald Schmets is a photographer and visual artist.
He studied at the Royal fine arts college, where he specialized in graphic designing and typography. He then joined the photography school at Breda.
Ronald Schmets has a genuine interest for photographic decors. Therefore, he left to discover Belgian and Dutch castles. His favorite theme is woman, and he makes her look divine. He is inspired by painters from the Renaissance period, like virgins, lovers and mothers. Ronald Schmets nurtures his women, their world goes beyond men and gives them a heavenly look. He works his compositions, decorations and the light effect with a lot of precision.
The photographed image is then printed on metallic paper, stuck on dibond, dipped in artificial resin, which creates a transparent veil on the image.
