STANISLAW FIJALKOWSKI (born in 1922)
Polish painter and graphic artist, doctor honoris causa of the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz.
In 1944-45 he was forced to work in Königsberg. Between 1946 and 1951 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz in the studios of prof. W?adys?aw Strzeminski and Stefan Wegner. He received his diploma under the guidance of Ludwik Tyrowicz. After graduation, he worked at the Lodz Academy of Fine Arts and in 1983, he was appointed professor.
Stanislaw Fija?kowski represented Poland at the Sao Paulo Biennale (1969) and the Venice Biennale (1972). In 1977, he received Cyprian Norwid Award, and in 1990 was awarded the prestigious Jan Cybis Prize. He is a member of international association XYLON. He also belongs to the European Academy of Science and Art in Salzburg and the Belgian Royal Academy of Science, Literature and Fine Art in Brussels.
