Born in 1978 - Poland
Marta Lebek is a Polish artist born in 1978. She currently lives and works in Spain.
She studied at the School of Fine Arts and specialized in the department of painting and graphic arts.
In her collections, Marta Lebel devotes her work to the study of the female body. Which she puts in the center of her compositions and concentrates only on this element.
She draws sketches of women's naked bodies. Their positions are inspired by everyday life situations, leaning or lying. Some of her pieces are reminiscent of Degas' models, where women are making their toilettes with no frills or embellishment.
It is from this candid and trenchant outline that the characters get their essence and come to life. Sometimes their stare is empty or concealed, sometimes piercing, their figures are full of mystery and attract our attention.
The artist plays with the shapes of women. She uses a lot of curves to depict them, she highlights the breast, the buttocks, and the thighs of her muses. A natural and modest beauty that shows herself without revealing too much.
