Born in 1961 in Warsaw, Rafal Kostrzewa is a Polish artist. He graduated in 1987 from the Fine Arts school in Warsaw. He lives in USA today.
He is fascinated by avant-garde painters from the 20th century, mainly Cezanne and Picasso. These masters inspire him, just like his surrounding nature.
At times surrealist, at times realist, he is always poetic and creative. By sketching women with great finesse, Rafal Kostrzewa is like the worthy heir of Egon Schiele.His works raise questions, without giving the answer, towards the free skills of thinking.
His work is exhibited in several galleries, from Warsaw to Brussels...During his course, he also signed major posters with the Metropolitan Opera and New York Times. His career is extremely successful: he received a gold and a silver medal from the Society of illustrators in New York, Los Angeles but also Art Directors Club award of New York.
