MARIA ANTO (b. 1936- d. 2007)
She studied in the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in the ateliers of professor Stefan P?uzanski and professor Michal Bylina and graduated in 1962. Anto had over 60 individual exhibitions in Warsaw and abroad, and she participated in over 250 collective exhibitions. Her works are to be found in many museum and private collections in Poland and abroad.
"The encounter with the artistic world of Maria Anto pictures is always a moment of a deep emotional touch, resembling only the emotions evoked by the most beautiful poetry. Unicorns, pegasuses and dancing angels on her paintings make us think of poetry with its highest values - purity, inspiration, and fragility. The Earth stands still, the time does not exist and the picture becomes an autonomous reality of the canvas.
