Presentation

Anna Karpowicz-Westner is a Polish artist, born in 1951. In 1978, she graduated from the Fine Arts School and studied under the guidance of Jan Szancenbach.

Anna Karpowicz-Westner has put down roots in colourism. Her favorite themes are femininity and lyricism. She paints bodies of women, often nudes. The latter look nostalgic and their stoic posture is almost sensual. Object of desire, they look proud even during moments of doubt and sadness. They have a relinquished look while looking out of the window. Outside, everybody is euphoric, a cheerful and colorful energy. Anna Karpowicz-Westner's work is poetic, melancholic and delicate.

Works of Anna Karpowicz-Westner are exhibited in Poland and abroad, in cities like Paris, Tokyo, Vienna or even Chicago. Her paintings are part of several private and public collections, like the one of the National Museum, Krakow.
