Tudor Banus

Born in: 1947


A protean artist, Tudor Banus is a painter, engraver and illustrator for the press and edition. He was born in 1947 in Bucharest.

Tudor Banus began his studies at the School of Architecture and Urban Planning in Bucharest in 1971. He then joined the Ecole Supérieure des Beaux-Arts of Paris in order to pursue his studies in architecture, but he also specialized in old techniques of oil painting and engraving in 1972.

He was inspired by drawing at first, having worked on the stories of Jules Verne, Doris Lessing or Jack London. He followed the same path with the press and collaborated with French and foreign newspapers such as Le Monde, Le Point, The New York Times and Business Tokyo.

He exhibited for the first time in 1974 but it was until several years later that he decided to devote himself solely to painting. His works will be exhibited in Europe and the United States
