Presentation
A graduate of the Moscow Surikov School of Fine Arts, painter Alexei Lantsev works with a wide range of subjects in the style of abstract and semi-abstract painting. Born in 1970 in the city of Krasnodar, he has had more than 20 personal exhibitions in Russia, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Hong Kong.
“To paint, you have to close your eyes and sing," Picasso once said. It seems that when Alexei Lantsev paints his paintings, he not only sings, but at the same time performs a real dance with a brush, giving in to an impulse that pushes him from the inside. All his compositions essentially consist of a combination of a graceful line with sonorous color spots, as if intuitively scattered over the entire surface of the sheet.
The leitmotif of Alexei Lantsev's work is always the search for a balance between logic and feeling, whether it is abstraction, landscape or figurative art.
The echo of Matisse's distant song, the melody of Lantsev's painting undoubtedly speaks of the joy of life. The harmonious compositions in contrasting colors are conducive to a silent attempt to hear your mysterious inner symphony while finding the area where the words end and the music begins.
Alexei Lantsev's works are part of the collections: Wolfson College in Cambridge, National Bank of Iceland, Raiffeisen Bank, Clifford Chans, Deutsche Bank, Standard & Poor's, Novosibirsk Museum of Fine Arts, Abramtsevo Museum.
