A great photographer and globetrotter, Matjaz Krivic's photographic practice specializes in capturing the grandeur of indigenous places and inhabitants and trying to reveal their personalities.
He has been travelling the entire world during the last 22 years, searching for new subjects, patterns and landscapes, in a style which is far from aesthetic, a characteristic that defines his work. It is precisely thanks to this very personal style why he has won several prizes.
For Matjaz Krivic, the road has become his home, his window to the world. Without taking a break, he is always travelling somewhere around the world, the dunes of the Sahara desert, the snowy mountains of the Himalayas etc. His photographs are the representation of a marginalized society, whose social, cultural and religious traditions have not been discovered yet.
Matjaz's works are always very spontaneous and respectful of the individual. His sense of aesthetics pushes him to try to capture the soul of his characters in order to make the viewer, observe and meditate.
