Kim Mingjung is a Korean artist born in 1962 in Gwangju. From an early age, she started learning how to paint with various teachers including the famous Yeonggyun Kang.

Between the ages of thirteen and twenty-nine, her formation in oriental calligraphy allowed her to learn the fundamental principles of Asian culture. She enrolled at the Hongik University, in Seoul in 1980 but she had already a very extensive knowledge of art.

She continued her studies in Milan in 1991, at the Brera Academy where she studied the basics of European painting. Kim Mingjung performs her paintings exclusively in ink which is the most symbolic art of all oriental arts. She currently lives between France, Italy and the United States.
