Born in Seoul, South Korea in 1959.

Graduated in Fine Arts from Seoul

François LIM (Jeong Kil Lim) practiced pictorial hyper-realism. He expressed the reality of everyday life vividly, but relegated his subjectivity and feelings to the background. He treated all subjects, scenes and events mechanically. 

Following his arrival in France, he spent 11 years in the south of France, drawing inspiration from the beauty that nature exudes. And beyond, he tried to penetrate the mystery of the colors which are constantly metamorphosing on the border of light and dark. 

Today, he uses his sensitivity to reveal, capture this banal and brief moment, yet comfortable. His aesthetic ideal is to capture in a snapshot the forms furtively created by the light that we pass without seeing most of the time. And finally, express, through this shot, the inspiration and harmony that exist between light and shadow.
