Avelino Sala

Born in: 1972

Translation in progress

The work of Avelino Sala is inscribed in a social context of crisis and late capitalism, where mankind searches for a balance, a response that gives meaning to the present and global situation. His works are manifestations of resistance which, employing a certain aesthetic sense, ironically set out how one can take a critical stance of questioning and opposing to reality from the visual art and system of thoughts. His work has been recently exhibited at the group shows Pigs at Artium, Vitoria, Be-diversity, a mental attitude on differences, beyond biodiversity, Museum of Science, Trento, Italy, Universitary Institute of Architecture in Venice, Fundació Joan Miró in Barcelona, Es Baluard, Palma de Mallorca, Hischhorn Museum in Whasington, NCCA of Moscow, Museum of Marble of Carrara, Matadero in Madrid, La Pedrera, Centre D’art Le Lait Grahulet, France, Museum Artium, Real Accademy of Spain in Rome, Museo Nacional de Arte Reina Sofia, X Biennia of La Habana, among many other international institutions.
