Cayn Sanchez is a Spanish artist born in 1982. After studying illustration at the Llotja School of Illustration and Art in Barcelona, he obtained a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona in 2015.
It was with graffiti that Cayn Sanchez started his artistic research and artistic expression, he started painting on the streets of Barcelona during the spring of 1999. His big interest for social problems can be seen in his first urban works.
He emphasized on the role that urban art plays in contemporary art and developed the project Professional Bastards in 2010 which was only the beginning of a collection of twenty six mural paintings representing the biggest and deadliest genocides of the twentieth century. This project allowed him to be present in ten Asian countries.
His work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions mainly in Spain and Asia. He won a scholarship granted by the Japanese government which allowed him to travel throughout Asia again and made an artistic residency at the Tsukuba Art Center in Tsukuba, Japan the summer of 2014.
