Carlos Miranda

Carlos Alberto Miranda Osuna, born in Madrid (Spain) 1973, completed his primary studies at the Liceo Serrano school in Boadilla del Monte (Madrid), pursuing his higher studies in Sculpture at the Official School of Arts and Artistic Crafts in Madrid, specializing in carving handicraft of stone, wood and artistic metal forging. He studied painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Madrid. He has held solo and group exhibitions in our country as well as in France and Switzerland, and combines his personal artistic work with his collaborative work with prestigious decorators such as Paco Teran in the city of Madrid. Throughout his professional career, he made several trips in relation to the knowledge of the predominant artistic trends in his youth to cities of great artistic creation such as New York, Berlin, Mexico, DF, Buenos Aires, Paris and Genève.He fixed his residence in Madrid, where he had his workshop and raised his family. Art lover above all things regardless of the style that is processed, admiring artists of the Baroque, surrealism, realism etc. He absorbs knowledge and professionalism from all of them, having above all as great inspiration artists such as the great Kazuo Shiragao, Shozo Shimamoto, of the Japanese Gutai movement.

Carlos Miranda statement: "There is no specific plan when we are faced with a fabric or a support, there is no concept, only ACTION. In figuration the more you control the process of creation, the better the result, however in abstraction the more you control, the more superficial it seems. The interesting thing about abstraction is spontaneity. My work is mainly characterized by the power of the gestural and the treatment of color without many deep pretensions, only the execution of the pictorial material. Art consists of the orchestration of a series of personal rules about where to act and where not to, how far to go and when to stop the process, in such a way that the accumulation of apparent chaos defines order. The artistic environment and the laws that govern the act of painting and its possibilities are mastered to a high degree. The paintings are complex interactions and incorporate a great diversity of artistic references. Thought and action, concept and emotion are introduced in an ingenious and sensitive game".
