Born in Rochester in the state of New York, 1990. Jared Bushand currently works in Palma de Mallorca, Spain.
Using brushes, pencil or his photographic camera, the artist composes paintings, drawings and photographs with the same vigor and a touch of irony. His work reflects his shifted perspective about things and human beings. This unusual perception has as a purpose to liberate us of some steotypes or prejudices which have become norms and traditions in our society. Beyong this identifications, his pieces plunge in the abyss of the human psyche. Jared Bushang creates a hide and seek game with the faces that he captures. The faces are camouflaged by particular objects which have been carefully elaborated (Earth globes, placards....) subtlety and subversion become one.
The artist superimposes faces, eyes, mouths etc the mixture of elements compose a new emsemble where power and emotions abounds. Jared Bushang manages to undo the sense and norms and to give a new sense, a sense where the observer use his own understanding.
He has done several solo exhibitions in New York: (He has exhibited his work at the St John's Gallery in 2012), and went beyong the border to Mexico (One night in Mexico, Rojas Pop-up in 2015), in Mallorca (Stefan Lundgren Gallery in 2015), and then in Colombia (At the Museum of Cartagena in 2016)
