Eva Rödseth

Born in the south of Sweden in 1954 Eva moved to Gothenburg at a young age, where she grew up and received her artistic education during seven years at the KV Art School, HDK University College of Design and Art and the Houvedskous Art School. During this period Eva was inspired by the colouristic Gothenburg painting tradition and extensive portrait and model painting giving her a profound experience of mastering colour and form.

Having finished her studies Eva returned to the southern part of Sweden where her activities included work as artist tutor at a senior high school as well as university art courses. She became the artistic coordinator of the art fair "Expression 97" in the city of Helsingborg. Living on the beautiful coast of southern Sweden with the caracteristic silouette of the Kullaberg mountain offered plenty of opportunities for outdoor painting.

In 2013 Eva settled in the south of France, where she now has her home and studio in the town of Argelès-sur-Mer. In her artistic work the human form is her main focus. In the stroke of colours she strives to find the shades that carry the light and the character of the inner soul of a face or a landscape. Today the intensity of light and colours in her paintings has increased further sometimes making the human figures liberated and integrated with their surroundings.

Since 1985 Eva has participated in a large number of exhibitions at galleries, art fairs and art halls in Sweden and Europe. At 2008 she was invited by the Swedish Embassy to participate in the "Swedish Project" at Huntenkunst in the Netherlands. She has also been represented by a permanent exhibition at Örenäs Castle in Sweden for the last ten years.
