Wang Chienyang is a Taiwanese artist, born in 1981 in Taipei where he currently lives and works. He obtained his BA at the National Taiwan University of Arts.
After his graduation, he began working as a professional photographer, currently he's among the budding talents of Taiwan, not only in the world of art but also fashion and media.
Wang Chienyang does digital age photography. The artist is capable of rolling out a world prolific with wild and crazy scenarios in a narrow space with four walls of an apartment, therefore blurring the borders between the real and virtual.
The photographic world of Wang Chienyang is extremely joyful, playful and humorous and captures the aesthetic essence of the contemporary Taiwanese youth.
Wang Chienyang has received several awards over the past years: the first prize ( for the general fine arts category) at the International Photography Awards in U.S.A. The second prize (for the category of performing arts) Photography award in Paris and the excellence Awards of the Photography Contest of the JPS-Japan Photographers Society.
He also exhibited at many art events in Asia, such as the Taiwan Biennial in 2014, and the rest of the world: Casa de la Cultura de Tampico (Mexico, 2013), in Ausin Tung Gallery (Melbourne, 2011), not to mention the Today Art Museum (Beijing, 2013).
