Kokou Kpatakou is a rising star of Togolese contemporary art.
A screen printer by training, Kokou very early on turned to abstract plastic art, to which he had a great passion. "I visited exhibitions and met a lot of artists; I believe that this is what gave birth to this passion in me and later made me discover the talents that I am developing today", he says. .
From acrylic-based painting on canvas, the young plastic artist has moved for about three years to a technique that is increasingly talked about. "The technique consists of a support paper obtained from herbs, leaves or tree bark. I started experimenting with this technique after training in Burkina-Faso in 2013. I then exhibited my works. at the French Institute in Ouagadougou. Back in Togo, I continued to develop this technique which sets me apart today, ”he explains.
Kokou Kpatakou has exhibited since 2002 in Burkina Fasso, Togo, France and Canada.
