Gorkem Dikel

Gorkem completed his undergraduate studies at the painting department of MSFAU. While still a student, she presented her first solo exhibition entitled “Bigger than you” at SODA. After that she started MFA at the same university. She was a visiting student at the Fine Arts of the University of Seville between 2009 and 2010. In 2010, Dikel was the first Turkish artist to receive an art grant from the Fundación Antonio Gala, founded by the Spanish writer Antonio Gala. She participated in the Plein-Air artist residency program in 2013 in Spain, organized by the Fundación Tres Culturas. In 2010, she collaborated with Natalie Skobeeva in the Memento Mori Istanbul project, exhibited at the Moscow Biennale. Gorkem also held his second solo show “Empatia” in Arte Aula, Spain. She then participated in symposia and exhibitions at local and international levels following her duo exhibition at Anna Laudel Contemporary in 2013. Her works have been exhibited at art fairs. Parallax Art Fair (London), Art Sevilla (Spain), Contemporary Istanbul, Artist (Turkey). In 2017, she was invited to speak at the “PANGEA” conference on refugee issues in Spain, on behalf of Turkish artists. His works were then exhibited at La Noche Blanco by Arquemi in Spain. In 2018, she participated in the “Complex Plane” exhibition and artist conferences organized by? Pek Ye? Insü at the Merkür gallery. His works constitute special collections in the United States, Germany, Australia, England, Italy, Spain and Turkey.
