Presentation

Victor Tkachenko is an Ukrainian artist born in Krivoy Rog in Ukraine. He received a professional artistic training at the age of 10 and was one of the few students to complete the rigorous program of the famous School of Art of Krivoy Rog. He currently lives and works in Toronto, Canada.

Working mainly with acrylics, Victor Tkachenko displays his mastery of the line and color in his precise work with the brush and a palette of colors dominated by "earth" tonalities. The physiognomy of his work is highlighted by accents of ink and by intermittently adding industrial material such as varnish and plaster.

During the various stages of his work, the figurative shapes of Victor are drawn with elongates lines, exaggerated features and geometrical motifs that resemble the work of Amedeo Modigliani and Gustav Kilmt highlighted by a subtle cubist aesthetics. His work is based, in symbolism and expressionism. In his artwork we can find plans of soft light that intersect and overlap, objects and figures emerge from a oneiric atmosphere of harmonious colors, while the emotion and the meaning are masterfully transmitted through the bold motifs and the lively lines.

Victor Tkachenko's work can be admired in galleries and private collections everywhere around the world.
