Biography
Cartrian is a British street artist, known for his works with strong social criticism. He started practicing street art in his hometown, Leytonstone when he was 12. At the age of 15, he continued his practice of art on the street in the emblematic neighborhood of Brick Lane, in East London. Later on, his political works could be found in the center of London, on the walls in front of the parliament. His works are eminently political, where humor is use to make an acerbic critique of modern society. From George Bush and Queen Elizabeth II to Kim Jong-un, nobody escapes Caltrain's .... eye. He draw attention when he used images of Damien Hirts's sculpture "For the Love of God" for his work "For the Love of Art". His work has been acclaimed by artists such as Bansky, Gilbert and Georges. Caltrain's work can be found today in some of the most prestigious British institutions, such as in the Tate Modern, the National Gallery and the British Museum.
