Abraham Danso

United Kingdom

Translation in progress

Abraham Danso was born in 1968 in Camden Town, London. He spent his childhood in The Gambia, West Africa and Lausanne and Zurich in Switzerland. From a young age his drawing and painting offered him a form of emotional balance. The artist communicates using the colour materiality, combination and composition in his abstract works, transferring universal and invisible energies onto the canvas to reach the viewer’s emotions. He works with acrylics as well as mineral and semi-precious stone pigments. Abraham considers the spirit to be the source of his art. “The energies of the Great Spirit inspire me,” he says. “It is my goal to continue to develop myself and to follow the yearning and inner dialogue.”

Abraham studied interior design at the New Art School Zurich and later graduated as a Decoration Painter, going on to work as a restorer and decorative painter for some years. His obsession with the purpose, form and psychology of colour led him to devote many years to the study of colour design, colour design technology and colour consulting, which he utilises in his current multi-faceted roles as space/object designer, decoration/stage painter and visual artist.

The artist has taken part in several exhibitions, including Art in Mind – Absolution at The Brick Lane Gallery in London, Abstract at Gallery Ina Dederer & Friends in Zurich in 2015 and was represented at Art Monaco’15. He currently lives and works in Zurich.
