Robert Bradford was born in London in 1970. He lives and works in London.
He started his studies at the Beckenham School of Art, and got a BA in painting from the Ravensbourne College of Art and a Master's in film from the Royal College of Art in London. He has taught courses at Maidstone College of Art in England, and at the San Diego State University, California. After his studies, he worked as mental health professional for several years in order not to depend on his sales for living.
For several years, paint has been his favorite technique. In 1992 he started to work outdoors in 3D, on of state commissioned works. His fame is due to his fire sculptures.
In 2004, he began to work on a series of sculptures using plastic toys
as the main material. This series has brought him in the international attention. After trying several methods, since 2006 - 2007, he developed his method of construction aimed to fix the toys on a wooden frame with nails. This method proved to be both solid and easily adaptable.
Robert Bradford has now collectors in London, in the Czech Republic, in San Diego, Washington, New York and Milan.
