Sam Toft

United Kingdom  • 1978

Presentation

Born in June 1964, Sam's earliest ambition was to work in a Post Office. Or at the very least to get a job in a good cake shop. However, after graduating from Kingston Polytechnic with a BA in Applied Social Sciences, working for a few years as a Civil Servant in Surrey, a Catering Manager in Middlesex and a Theatre Dresser in Hammersmith, she gave up the high life and moved to Liverpool for a spell on the unemployment register while she studied at the City College for a BTEC in Art and Design. Sam has worked full time as an Artist for over 13 years and is delighted to have work published as limited edition prints, cards and posters, distributed widely through such stores as Waterstones, WHSmith and IKEA.

The previous two years have seen successful one man shows in London, the continuing good health of her darling Moses Dog, and the birth of a new addition: Stanley Philpot, who will no doubt be working his black curly snout into her future masterpieces. Mr Mustard and Friends continue to be a great hit both here and abroad, and the artist respectfully advises you, if you like her work at all, to buy one now, as next year you won't be able to afford one.
