Born in 1942 - United Kingdom
Michael Strang is an English artist born in 1942.
He specialized in art and design at the School of Hons, London, he went as well to the School of Art of Wimbledon and Camberwell from 1968 to 1973.
Michael Strang's works depict natural landscapes and seascapes in a classic style, expressionist tradition. Still life and floral tangles are the subjects that we repeatedly find in his oil paintings.
He absorbs everything he can from his environment to better transcribe what he sees on his canvas, not hesitating to paint outdoors, on a clear day or during a storm, to capture the light. His ability and speed to work allows him to do this, which is better according to him than painting in a studio.
The artists style belongs to that of his predecessors in the history of art. For him painting is like a dialogue between the actors of the past and his own work is a tribute to them.
His works are exhibited in England at the National Museum of Wales, in Oxford, at the Royal Cornwall Museum and at the Cornwall Council.
