Biography

Stéphanie Slama, born in 1968, graduated from the Fine Arts program at California State University (USA). She was selected to participate in an exchange program with the New York School of Visual Arts and the Ecole Supérieure d’Arts Graphiques Penninghen in Paris, where she studied photography with Peter Knapp (Artistic Director of Elle magazine).

Stéphanie Slama was a production assistant at Art Partner for Mario Testino and Carine Roitfeld (before Vogue), and an assistant at Glamour US (Condé Nast). She coordinated campaigns for L'Oréal, Guerlain, Cacharel and Givenchy as Artistic Director.

Today she works with Valérie-Anne Giscard d'Estaing's agency Photo12. Her photographs have appeared in Paris Capitale, Le Figaro Magazine, Numéro, in catalogs for Caron, Chloé, and in ads for Dior, De Grisogono, Alfred Dunhill, Lanvin, etc.).

She took portraits of Isabelle Adjani, Nikos Aliagas, Elsa Zylberstein, Francis Huster, Jean-Hughes Anglade, Stéphane Freiss, Richard Bery. She specialized in portrait photography, fashion and reportage.

Her style is described as very American: energetic, with punchy and saturated colors, and from time to time some sepia images. The compositions are inspired by her work as a graphic designer, with a subtle sense humor - but always showing great respect and attention to her subjects.
