Gabriel Pena

Gabriel Peña is a Mexican artist born in 1981 who lives & works in Montreal, Canada. Gabriel’s fascination with contemporary art and art history has influenced his hybrid style, from classical to impressionism to full abstract, complemented by his choice in colors, tones, pigments, and layering. The combined effect creates excitement and brings life to his art. His work has been exhibited at the UNICEF Next Generation Art event in Venice, Italy. Gabriel was raised observing and creating art. He is a self-taught artist who has studied volumes of works from troglodyte frescos to contemporary art and has informally studied it abroad. He feels that understanding key periods in art history are essential for understanding the influences of our current time. His style is continuously being transformed by every single piece that he creates.
