Chris Ellis (Daze) is an American artist, born in 1961. He lives and works in New York.

He began his prolific career by painting in the New York metro during the 70's, while going to High School of Art & Design. He is one of the only artists who managed to succeed the transition from metro to studio. He displayed his work along with great artists like Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring, during an exhibition at Mudd Club in 1981.

Since then, his work has been exhibited in numerous personal exhibitions in cities like Monte Carlo, Hong Kong, Paris, New York, Beijing, Chicago and Singapore. His work is part of many public collections around the world like MoMa in New York, The Brooklyn Museum, the Groninger Museum in Netherlands and private collections like Madonna or Eric Clapton to name a few.
